Transport

Participants arrange shared transport to the flying site among themselves. Each participant decides for themselves whether their name, town and chosen contact (phone or e-mail) are shown to the other participants of the same course date — this is set with a separate consent at registration or in the profile settings. Without consent the details are not visible; declining does not affect your registration.

Who is the course for?

Anyone who wants to extend their skills and prepare for the procedure for obtaining the rating for flying with a passenger (T/JP).

The course is intended to train and prepare the candidate for the prescribed procedure and examination for obtaining the T/JP rating. Successful completion of the course does not in itself mean that the rating has been obtained and does not confer the right to carry out commercial tandem flights. The candidate must meet all applicable requirements, successfully complete the required procedures and obtain the rating from the competent authority.

Course provider

The participant is informed of the specific provider or instructor before the training starts. Where the regulations require a specific rating for the training, it is conducted only by a person holding a valid appropriate rating.

How are the courses run?

Courses are held on Saturday afternoons after 14:00 and on weekdays after 17:00.

In winter, because of the shorter days, courses are held only at weekends.

You will be informed of the course dates at least one day before the planned session, by SMS.

What do I need?

iFly entry requirement: at least 150 hours of paragliding flight time, your own equipment and equipment for the passenger. The candidate must separately meet all applicable CAA requirements for obtaining the T/JP rating (the official training programme is set by the competent authority).

How long does the course take?

The course lasts about 14 days.

When do courses start?

In suitable weather conditions we start a course every Saturday.

Provider and authorisations

Participants are informed of the specific provider or instructor before training begins. Where regulations require a specific authorisation, training is delivered only by a person holding a valid one.

The course trains and prepares the candidate for the prescribed procedure and examination for the T/JP tandem pilot authorisation. Successful completion of the course does not in itself confer the authorisation and does not entitle the holder to perform commercial tandem flights. The candidate must meet all applicable requirements, complete the required procedures and obtain the authorisation from the competent authority.
