Frequently asked questions

Practically anyone — no experience is needed. The only limit is a passenger weight of up to 120 kg, and those under 18 need the written consent of a parent or guardian. The flight is carried out by one of the independent operators holding a CAA permit; organisation and sales are handled by FSP, d.o.o.

It depends on the weather — flight time ranges from 15 minutes to 1 hour. The takeoff is Ambrož pod Krvavcem at 1,320 m above sea level.

We monitor the weather and contact you the day before if the flight is cancelled — we reschedule free of charge.

You start with an introductory or beginner course. In the beginner course you master the basics of launching, flying and landing; the advanced course adds high-altitude flights. You can borrow all the equipment from us for the duration of the course.

Prices range from 75 € for the taster course to 2.000 € for the instructor course — the full price list is below and on the prices page. Students buy equipment at a reduced price and can pay in instalments.

At iFly. High flights and tandems take off from Ambrož below Krvavec (1,320 m), half an hour from Ljubljana; the first days of the beginner course are spent on gentle training slopes at Prebold, Celje or Šoštanj, and high flights are flown from Dobrovlje, Krvavec or Donačka gora. The site is chosen according to the weather.

We fly all year round whenever the weather allows. A new beginner course starts every Saturday or by arrangement; the advanced course runs on every day with good weather. In winter, because of the short days, sessions are mostly at weekends. Tandem flights are arranged by phone according to the forecast.

The beginner course takes four days (25 hours) and ends with your first high flight. The advanced course follows with 50 high flights, which takes about ten flying days in good weather. Someone who can fly every day gets from day one to the exam before the board in 14 full days; most people spread it over one season. Both courses together as a package cost 900 €.

No. The pilot flies the whole flight; you only take a few steps down the slope at take-off and again at landing. You need sportswear, shoes with good grip and a weight of up to 120 kg. Under-18s need a parent's or guardian's consent.

About Tandem Flights →

After the introductory and beginner courses you receive a certificate of attendance. You obtain the paraglider pilot licence after the advanced course, when, with 50 high flights completed, you pass the theory and practical exam before the examining board. We register you for the exam.

In paragliding you take off on foot from a slope and soar under an open wing — a flight lasts from a few minutes to several hours, with no aircraft and no free fall. Skydiving is a jump from an aircraft with free fall. iFly is a paragliding school; we do not do jumps from aircraft.

Yes — when signing up for a course or tandem flight, choose "I don't know the date yet" and we will arrange the date later by phone or e-mail.

Buy a gift voucher in the online shop — the recipient receives the voucher as a PDF by email, together with your personal message. The gift voucher is valid for 24 months from the date of purchase; the exact expiry date is stated on the voucher.
