The one-day Hike & Fly course costs 75 €.

Hike & Fly combines a hike up a mountain with flying back down: you reach the summit on foot with the glider in your backpack, lay out the wing at the top and fly into the valley.

One day in the Slovenian mountains above 2000 m. It is for pilots who want to start flying from summits, even if they do not yet know mountain conditions: the instructor is with you from choosing the take-off to landing.

Theory

• what is different about flying from summits compared with a training slope
• how to move and make decisions safely in the mountain environment
• how to pick and prepare a take-off nobody has prepared for you
• mountain weather: wind, clouds and how the day develops

Practice

• hike to the chosen summit with lightweight gear in your backpack
• preparing the wing on a narrow, unprepared take-off
• launching from a mountain top
• safe landing on different terrain in the valley
• if conditions allow, thermal soaring too
